Microsoft Teams
Setup & Behavior
Setup
- No setup is needed
- Team recording bots work automatically without any configuration
Recording Behavior
- No recording permission is needed for Microsoft Teams calls.
- This means that as long as the bot is in the call, it will be able to record.
Joining Behavior
- By default, Microsoft Teams bots will need to be let in from the lobby.
- The host can require that all participants (incl. the recording bot) enter through the waiting room.
Below shows the Microsoft Teams settings for lobby behavior:
- Green: Bots will be able to join without authenticating if the end user changes their setting to "Everyone"
- Red: Bots will bypass the lobby only if they're authenticated, otherwise they will go through the lobby
Limitations
Screen-Share Capturing
- Microsoft Teams has native screen-sharing feature that is focused on Microsoft-specific applications.
- Users can share certain applications and documents directly, instead of actually screen-sharing a window or their entire screen.
- Weflow's recording bots currently do not support capturing these special native screen-sharing features, since they use a different mechanism than sharing your screen, window, or tab.
Limitations include:
- Microsoft Whiteboard
- Powerpoint live
- Excel Live
